A young Indian family living abroad desired a holiday home flanking the backwaters of Kerala; a home that would reflect their native land. We began a design process that involved exploring rusticity and exposed finishes. We aimed to create a living habitat interjected with landscape within the interiors. We commissioned local artisans to create furniture out of cane. We explored the dying art of Athangudi handmade tiles and have explored their possibilities on surfaces beyond flooring.
