A slender linear plot surrounded by tropical vegetation all around. The project has been designed so as to make the house self reliant, self sufficient and with as little dependency on artificial cooling as possible. The house design has been evolved after a detailed climatic study with an attempt to create wind tunnels, passive cooling methods and exploration of natural materials that are available within a radius of 30 kms.
The building construction technique is an attempt in adopting local material and mortar techniques. The roofscape of the house has been designed to be a self sustaining kitchen garden for the family. A home that is embedded within the existing environment and remains as a cohesive one rather than a stand-out one.
